You had me laughing at Joe Manchin is a Democrat. I read your article anyhow, and thank you for the nitty-gritty detail of what is actually going on as our elected representatives go about the business of protecting and promoting the well-being of the common citizen, ha, ha. The truth of the matter is these people are too stupid to see climate change and what that means, or they have decided the death of most of us is the expedient and desired solution. This is a logical conclusion. Thank you for the good work. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/circumstantial-evidence
I would love to see a pro/con list of the Biden's environmental record, from climate change to action against biodiversity loss. My impression is that the record has been poor, from the Willow decision to expanding ethanol to protecting Wyoming frackers in court to LNG approvals and more.
Oh, by the way I think your support for Cornell West is misplaced.
(From Ryan Cooper. I should note I strongly disagree with him on Biden.)
"He is, or at least used to be, a serious academic philosopher and public intellectual. It might be that West is just getting on in years and doesn’t understand the context here. Or it might be that he has become a crypto-right wing crank. He eagerly welcomed the endorsement of Russell Brand, the actor and former leftist who has like Jimmy Dore become an anti-vaccine conservative who hangs out with Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle."
To be clear on Dr. West, I don't think his candidacy is viable. Like Joe Manchin, I am a Democrat. The point I was trying to make is that the Democratic Party's consequential compromises will make someone with West's message appealing to key elements of the party's unstable coalition, even without a meaningful political operation.
I want to live in the world where the Democratic Party is unified behind the politics of pluralist eco-democracy. It sucks that we don't! It would be very good for the powerbrokers of the party to be focused on the meaningful electoral consequences of their acceptance of the racist petrostate.

Thanks for the clarification.
